Sweetmeats
2012

“Sweetmeats is a meditation on illness and presence in the midst of a larger drama whose outlines are only hinted at. The piece is a way to consider what philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty calls ‘the movement by which all living beings, ourselves included, endeavor to give shape to a world that has not been preordained to accommodate our attempts to think it and act upon it.’ Sweetmeats has appeared at Microscope Gallery, Vanity Projects, and AXWFF Another Experiment by Women Film Festival in New York, as well as Parsons Hall Project Space in Massachusetts and FlexFest Experimental Film Festival in Florida."—D.I.
