The second chair within the series [fig. 6] splits the original pattern in half to make two chairs. They are very rectilinear, all elements are at ninety degrees to each other. Each chair and its components are dimensioned in a simple and modular fashion: if x=440mm, the each chair is 2x high, x wide, x deep, seat is at x height, the components are x/2 wide and 20mm thick, except the legs and rails which are 20mm square. The intention behind keeping the dimensions simple and clear was to allow the components to be directly 'read.' The board nature of the pattern is drawn attention to by making the board components very wide relative to their thickness.
